My writings about the joys and pains of being married, of raising five children ages 16 and under, and the joys and pains of trying to live a life according to the Bible, not according to tradition -- and failing at all of it from time to time. I thank God that the Joy always outweighs the pain!

Kumon Flash Cards
Kumon Flash Cards have worked out great for my three year old during our home school day.
Just picked up some of these for my 3 year old. I look forward to working with her on them!
Yeah, you! These write-and-wipe flashcards are a great tool to instill numeracy skills in out "little learners"! I'm a Kumon Instructor in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I encourage all of my "pre-Kumon" parents to utilize these flashcards, whether they buy them from me or not. The dot pattern recogniton is a precursor to both addition and multiplication, and the consistent number writing practice is oh-so-important.
Here's a suggestion to further the life of the flashcards if (OK, when) a "Sharpie" is used on the them: cover the perm marker marks with a dry-erase marker, and it will wipe clean. If a crayon is used, toothpaste rubbed with a paper towel should allow you a clean "Kumon slate".
